If it weren't Alaska, I don't know what they'd think....

Hello? Anyone? I hear voices, OH, there you are under all that dust! Here, let me un- bury you first, there! Well, I'm sorry to have left you all hanging, to be honest, I've been working me hind end off at work.... but no excuses!

I thought that I'd start off by sharing a funny story (one of those again, I know... but bear with me, it makes me feel better when I  torture you guys with these:P)  So driving in Alaska, let me start in the morning:

Get up an hour early, start the car a half hour before you leave (longer if it's below zero, which it wasn't this morning).

Let it warm up, dash out the door with your hair still in a towel ( wouldn't want it to freeze... at least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)

Drive down the hilly (is that even a word?) road three miles, keeping an eye out for moose and that darn dog that's always trying to chase the cars by running out in front of them... start slowing down about a half mile before the end of the road to avoid sliding.

Get to stop sign, California stop and turn onto the highway... press gas, peel out, slowly get up to 10 miles, push gas a little harder, start to slide (wiffle), steer into it, regain control, use the next 2 miles to get up to 65 mph

Get into town (40 minutes later), pray that the lights are green when you get to them, or red long before, it's scary sliding when trying to stop...

Now, fast forward to the evening, everything's pretty much the same, but we're driving just out side of town, when a moose decides to cross the road, you're in a pack of cars, do you freak out? Nope, you just swerve gently and keep going, without missing a beat not even changing your speed (which is over by 10 mph)....I mean the moose HAD to wait until the only pack of cars within a mile radius was right there before it crossed..... maybe it needed the extra light, I don't know....but anywhere, else, there would probably be people in ditches, or in the other lane, but here? Nah, it's cool, just a simple little swirve.... *sigh*

So, I guess you actually want to know what we've been up to?  Okay.....

Well, not much, Christmas was quiet, but nice (work was hectic to say the least)... my co worker and I dressed up in elf costumes... yes elf costumes....

I don't think that the pass port people would accept this do you?

Something about looking normal, OH I know what's wrong with it, I'm smiling....

Well, I've been a little lame about taking pictures lately, but the ice art (carvings) have started so, I'll have a really really cool post real soon, take care and happy spring (hope the snow and cold have taken the hint and gone away....)
