spelunking In the Laundry Pile

Ahoy there mateys! It's been forever since I've updated this poor blog, so I'm going to spend some quality time with it and you for a little bit :) (Aren't you feeling lucky already?) I thought I'd share some more parrot mischief with you and some of our cold/snow. It is finally warming up here in the frontier... we're up to the teens-30's above zero now! I can feel spring right around the corner. We went to the store yesterday, I walked out of our little cabin and down the steps smiling because there was wood showing on them! (Just wait, I get even MORE excited when I see my first blade of grass!). It has been a dreary dark winter and has seemed to stretch on and on. Though, we're anxiously awaiting the arrival of our baby boy, so that could be the reason too. So, while there is not much mischief going on outside, there is plenty going on inside (especially at our home, I think the Ringling brother's circus master might be impressed at our house!) As you know, we have two conures (parrots) and two dogs... things dull around here? NAH, never!

Yesterday I put a pile of blankets on top of my conure's cage (Galen's)... he likes to burrow in them and such. You'd think that would be really entertaining? Here's a quick tip: If your parrot is quite, he's up to something! I looked around, and low n' behold: My clean laundry piles (yes there are like three of them...) from inside one I hear some grumbling and chirping. And wouldn't you know it? But, a certain Peach Front Conure peeks his head out looking Soooo innocent. I couldn't help but laugh! I am starting to think that I am being outsmarted by something not heavier than a soda can. I love my parrots very much. If you're wondering what happened to the other bird, well 'she' (perhaps a he... we don't know) wouldn't stay put long enough to get a good picture of. Believe me, she's up to just as much mischief!

And before I go, I'm going to leave you with one more picture. I did this in response to a friend bragging that in New Mexico, she was wearing shorts in January. Look, I'm wearing shorts in January :p. Albeit, it's 0 degrees out (which was warm...)

I hope you all have a wonderful valentines day. Stay warm and safe.
